The Great British Write Off 2015 Winners Announced

The Great British Write Off is delighted to announce their 2015 winners. This exciting competition for poets and writers offered the opportunity to be published as well as win every penny in the prize fund, which increased every time a new entry was received! They also invited entrants to represent either England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales, as there were additional prizes for the best poet or writer in each country.

The Great British Write Off Champion 2015, who has won a prize bundle and the prize fund of £715.50 is Brian Bilston from Oxford (representing England), whose poem 'At The Intersection' received high scores from all 3 judges.

"Simple and executed cleverly with real discipline. Something moving about the two conflicting viewpoints and central thesis underlined by the two halves effectively," said Ana McLaughlin.

"Fun and interesting! Keeps you open to, and looking for, different interpretations," said Anastasia Prempeh.

"A touch of genius to this one. Stopped me in my tracks!" said Mark Grist.

Congratulations to our Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland winners too: Miriam Nemmaoui from Wrexham (representing Wales), Jen McGregor from Edinburgh (representing Scotland) and Kieran McGurk from Omagh (representing Northern Ireland), who've all won a prize bundle which includes a 25 booklet voucher for Book Printing UK, Bic© pen sets, LEUCHTTURM1917 bespoke winners' notepad, a selection of poetry books by Michael O'Mara Books and a copy of both The Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2015 / Childrens' Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2015.

The winners' work can be viewed here along with the prizes and further details about the competition and judges. The Great British Write Off will open in June 2016. In the meantime you can find out more at
